If your nudges or pills aren't showing up on your store, it's usually a quick fix. Work through the checklist below.

Make sure the assistant is enabled. Confirm the AI Chat Assistant app embed is turned on in your theme (Online Store → Themes → Customize → App embeds → Save), and that your assistant isn't paused. On the Dashboard it should read "Chat is live"; if it reads "Chat is paused", choose Go live.

For nudges: A nudge is a proactive prompt shown near the chat bubble to invite shoppers in. Check that: - The nudge is turned on in the Nudges screen. - You're on a page where it's meant to appear — some nudges are page-specific (for example, the Product Questions nudge only shows on product pages). - The current visitor and page match the nudge's targeting. A nudge only shows when both match its rules; otherwise it stays hidden. - You haven't already hit the session limits (1 nudge per page, 5 per session) or dismissed it this session.

For pills: Pills come in two types, and each shows up at a different time: - Conversation Starters (the chips you set up) only appear on an empty chat. Confirm you've set chips and that they're turned on. - Quick Replies are generated by the assistant during a conversation, so they won't show until a shopper has started chatting. There's nothing to configure for these.

Try a fresh session. Open your store in a private/incognito window. This resets the session limits and dismissals so you can confirm the nudge or pills appear for a new shopper.
