Setting up your assistant for the first time

Get your AI Shopping Assistant ready in minutes with a quick 3-step setup wizard. The first time you open the app, we'll walk you through making the assistant feel like part of your store, so it can start answering product questions, recommending products, and helping shoppers with their cart.

Here's what to expect.

Step 1 — Meet your AI Shopping Assistant

This first step is a quick introduction to what your assistant can do. Your AI Shopping Assistant can:

• Answer shoppers' questions about your products
• Recommend products that fit what a shopper is looking for
• Help shoppers with their cart

There's nothing to set up here — just read through and click Let's get started.

Step 2 — Match your brand style

Now you'll make the assistant look like it belongs on your store. In this step you can:

• Set the Bubble color so the chat matches your store's look
• Choose the Chat position — whether the chat bubble sits on the Left or Right of your store

When everything looks right, click Continue.

Tip: Don't worry about getting this perfect now — you can change these settings any time later in the app.

Step 3 — How should your assistant greet shoppers?

The final step is about the first impression shoppers get when they open the chat. Here you can:

• Choose an Assistant avatar
• Set the Store assistant name
• Write the Opening chat message shoppers see when they open the chat

Once you're happy with the greeting, click Go to Dashboard to finish. (You can click Back at any point to revisit an earlier step.)

After you finish setup

That's it — your assistant is configured, and you'll arrive at your Dashboard. You can revisit any of these choices — the look, the name, the opening message, and more — at any time using Customize Chat, which opens the Chat Appearance Settings editor.

One important note: finishing this setup wizard configures your assistant, but it doesn't automatically make it visible to shoppers on your live store. Your assistant only appears on your storefront once the storefront widget is enabled. See How to add the AI Shopping Assistant to your Shopify store for how to turn it on.
