The AI Shopping Assistant knows what's in your live Shopify store — your products, inventory, and store content — and it reads that information so it can help shoppers find what they're looking for.
Everything the assistant knows comes straight from your own Shopify store, and it only reads that information (it never changes it). That means the answers it gives reflect your real, up-to-date store.
What it can see
- Your product catalog — product names, descriptions, images, prices, and variants such as size and color.
- Inventory and availability — whether items are in or out of stock. It won't recommend something that's out of stock.
- Your store content — collections and store pages you've set up in Shopify, so it can share information that lives there.
- The shopper's current cart — the items, quantities, and totals — so it can help with cart and checkout.
What it can't see
- It can't see orders, order status, tracking, shipping, or returns for a shopper.
- It can't access customer accounts or customer data, and it can't email or message shoppers.
- It can't be trained on your own FAQs, help docs, or external website yet — it only knows what's in your Shopify catalog and content. (This is something we're planning for the future.)
- It doesn't change anything in your store — it's read-only. It can add items to a shopper's cart, but it never edits your products, orders, or settings.
- It doesn't remember shoppers between visits — its memory lasts only for the current chat session.
You can count on its honesty
Because the assistant answers from your real catalog, what it tells shoppers reflects your actual store. If it doesn't have the answer to a question — like the status of an order — it says so and points the shopper to your support team instead of making something up.
