What Is PayPal Guest Checkout?

Guest Checkout allows users to pay via credit or debit card without logging into or creating a PayPal account. This can reduce checkout friction—especially for users who don’t have or want a PayPal account.

🧭 Step 1: Log In to Your PayPal Business Account

1. Visit paypal.com

2. Log in using your PayPal Business credentials.

   Note: This feature will not appear on Personal PayPal accounts.

⚙️ Step 2: Enable Guest Checkout in PayPal Settings

1. From your PayPal dashboard, click the gear icon (⚙) to go to Account Settings.

2. In the left-hand menu, select Website Payments.

3. Under Website Preferences, click Update.

4. Find the section titled PayPal Account Optional.

5. Select On to enable guest checkout for users who don’t have PayPal.

6. Click Save to confirm your changes.

💡 When enabled, users will see the option to “Pay with Debit or Credit Card” when checking out via PayPal.

Once enabled:

• Preview your POWR Payment or Form app.

• Choose PayPal as the payment method.

• Check if the “Pay with Credit or Debit Card” button appears.

If you’ve enabled Guest Checkout but it’s still not visible, try the following:

1. Make sure you’re using a PayPal Business Account

Guest checkout is not supported on personal accounts.

2. PayPal may be detecting you as a returning user

If you’re logged into PayPal, it may skip the guest option. Test in:

• An incognito/private window

• A different browser or device

• A VPN or different network location

3. Check your PayPal country settings

Guest checkout may not be supported in all regions. Contact PayPal directly if you're unsure whether it's available in your country.
