Is your POWR Popup not showing up on your published site? Don’t worry—this is one of the most common questions we hear, and it’s usually quick to resolve. This guide will walk you through all the possible reasons your Popup isn’t displaying and show you how to fix it step by step.
💡 Tip: Most display issues are caused by missing installation code, display settings, or timing rules. Start by checking these first.
Step 1: Check If the App Is Installed on Your Live Page
Your Popup will only display on pages where the POWR installation code is present. Make sure that:
-
The Popup app is installed on the same page you expect it to appear.
-
The install code snippet is embedded properly (if you're using POWR's embed code).
To test this, try adding another POWR plugin (like a Countdown Timer) to the same page. If that shows but the Popup doesn’t, skip to Step 2.
Using a Website Builder?
If you're on a platform like Wix, Shopify, Weebly, Squarespace, or BigCommerce, use the platform-specific installation method provided in the POWR editor. Do not manually paste code unless instructed.
Step 2: Adjust Popup Frequency Settings
You can control how often your Popup appears to visitors. If your Popup isn't showing consistently, check these settings:
To change the frequency:
-
Open your Popup in the editor.
-
Go to the Content tab.
-
Click Popup Display Options.
-
Select one of the following:
-
Once per week per visitor
-
Once per day per visitor
-
Every time anyone visits
-
New visitors only
🧠 Tip: If you’re testing, use Every time anyone visits or test in a private browser window to bypass restrictions.
Step 3: Clear Browser Cache or Use Incognito Mode
Sometimes, your browser may load an old version of your site. If your popup settings have changed but aren’t visible yet:
-
Clear your browser’s cache
-
Or open the site in an incognito/private window
This ensures you’re viewing the most recent version of your site and plugin.
Step 4: Confirm the "Show Only Once" Rule Isn't Enabled
If your Popup is set to show only once per visitor, it won’t reappear unless:
-
You clear your browser’s cache
-
You open the site in incognito mode
-
You view it from a different device or browser
To disable this:
-
In the editor, go to Settings > Display Settings
-
Uncheck “Show only once per visitor”
Step 5: Check the Display Schedule
If you’ve set a specific date range using the Schedule & Triggers feature, the Popup will only appear during that time window.
Check this setting:
-
Open your Popup.
-
Go to Settings > Schedule & Triggers.
-
Make sure the start and end dates match when you want the Popup to appear.
⏳ If you're outside the selected date range, the Popup will not display.
Step 6: Check if the Popup Is Paused
If the Popup is paused, it won’t show to any visitors—including you.
How to resume:
-
In the POWR Editor, check the Pause Popup setting.
-
If paused, disable the pause option.
-
Click Publish to save and activate the Popup.
🔗 See How can I pause my Popup? for more info.
Step 7: Save and Publish Your Changes
Make sure all your changes are saved and published:
-
Click Save in the POWR Editor.
-
On platforms like Wix or Shopify, republish your site if needed to reflect updates.
Step 8: Look for App Conflicts or Overlapping Popups
Sometimes other popups or site scripts may block the POWR Popup.
-
Remove or disable other popups temporarily to test.
-
Make sure you haven’t embedded the same POWR Popup more than once on the page.
-
Avoid overlapping timed displays from other tools or themes.
