Getting Started
POWR Comments is a powerful tool that lets you collect feedback, answer your customers' questions, and tell them more about your product/service.
To create a new Comments app, log in to your POWR.io account, click on Create New, and select Comments from the pop-up. A new page will appear where you can create your app. The POWR Editor will appear on the left-hand side of the screen. Here, you will create and edit your app. Once it's ready, you can add it to your website, share it on social media, or just save it for later in your POWR account.
Please be advised that starting from March 14 2022 all new comments apps will be Default new version and old apps will remain on V1. Please check this link on how to use new Default Comments.
Basic Setup
Setting Up Posts
You can set up the criteria for your posts in the Content section of your App Dashboard under Posts. There are options to allow star-rating, emoji bar, replies, image uploads, voting, and anonymous comments besides the regular comments.
Setting Up Email Alerts
You'll probably want to receive emails when a visitor leaves a comment through the app. You can set this up in the POWR Editor in the Comments section. Under Email Notifications, click + Add Email and enter your email address in the field provided beneath Send New Comment Notifications to:
Managing Comments
In Comment Management, you can set the minimum & maximum number of characters required per comment and delete the comments that you don't want to see on your page.
FAQ
How can I limit the review section to a single page?
Adding a different version of the Comments app to different pages with just one install is not something that can be done yet. This requires a deeper integration with the system. At the moment, a user would need to manually add a different shortcode to each product page to show different content on different products.
POWR does not currently offer support for custom code or troubleshoot custom code issues.
How can I capture the aggregated ratings and total comments for Schema markup?
Each comment will appear within your Comments app. You're also able to open your inspector to view the scripts and codes that renders each specific comment. However, there's not a way of coding your page with a schema for each comment since the comments are loaded through our POWR servers.
How can I extract commentators' names and email addresses from my Comments app?
Unfortunately, our Comments app does not have the feature to save the name and the email address that are being provided by a commentator. The reason they need to enter their name and email address before they can leave a comment is for verification that the one who's leaving a comment is a real person, especially if the feature that allows anonymous comments is disabled. This information is needed for their username since our app automatically detects the name that's registered on their email account.

How can I delete unnecessary comments from my Comments app?
Please log in to your POWR account at https://www.powr.io/ and select the "Comment Management" section in the "Content" tab:

Does your app allow the importing of old reviews?

Is there a way for reviews to be hidden or condensed?
Yes. To hide your reviews, please go to your App Dashboard > Design > Layout, and choose Summary Bar under Posts and Summary Bar Display.
Please make sure to press the "Publish" button to save all changes. In that case, the reviews will only show up if you click on the Summary Bar (the total number of reviews) at the top of the app.
Does the app allow to moderate/edit the reviews?

Where can I change my avatar to reply to comments as an Admin or Moderator?
Unfortunately, our Comments app is not yet capable of uploading avatar images to the user (without logging in with Facebook or Google). We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. If you sign in through Google or Facebook, the app will pull your picture from your Google/Facebook profile and add it next to your comment.
Will customers receive an email notification if I or someone else replies to their comments?
No, the only person that will receive an email notification every time someone leaves a comment is you. Please learn more about this here: Email Alerts from POWR Comments
I cannot see comments posted on my app:
Please make sure to check if comments approval is toggled off. If this option is turned on, reviews will appear on your website only after your approval.
To disable this option, please follow these steps:
1. Open app settings
2. Open the "Content" tab
3. Click on the "Posts" section
4. Toggle off "Require my approval before comments are posted":
5. Click on the "Publish" button to save changes
