PayPal: Indian Rupees not currently supported
POWR offers PayPal as a payment gateway in various POWR apps (Form Builder, Payment Button, eCommerce, etc.).
At this time, PayPal's standard APIs do not support Indian Rupees. This means, when setting up payment in a POWR app, users based in India will need to choose another default currency to be displayed in the checkout. We recommend using a common currency, such as Euro, US Dollars, or British Pounds.
Buyers in India will still be able to purchase products from you, but the currency conversion will happen via the buyer's bank.
Most merchants and buyers in India are eligible for creating a PayPal account to make and accept payments. You may contact PayPal's support team if you need information about your account and available transaction modes specifically.
Stripe: businesses registered in India cannot take Stripe payments
Stripe allows certain businesses that are registered in India to take payments using Stripe. Full details are available here: Details needed to create an account with Stripe in India
Although Stripe allows businesses in India to take payments, not all developers using Stripe payments in their apps are set up to handle payments made to Indian business accounts.
Currently, POWR does not support payments made to Indian businesses. You may be able to connect Stripe to your POWR app successfully, but when trying to submit a payment, the buyer will see their payment stuck on "Processing..." and the payment will not go through.
If you'd like to see POWR support Stripe payments to businesses registered in India in the near future, please vote for this feature here:
Offline/In-Person Payments: alternative to PayPal/Stripe
For users who wish to sell goods or services via POWR apps without using PayPal or Stripe, "Offline payments" are available. With this setting, the payment happens outside of POWR. Typically, users will manually generate an invoice via their payment processor to handle the payment. Or, for any in-person pickups that transaction may happen at the point of sale. We recommend using this option if PayPal and/or Stripe are not available to you.
