Manage memberships with POWR forms

Running a members-only area on your website? POWR Forms can be a valuable part of your membership workflow, but it's important to understand where POWR fits and where you'll need other tools alongside it.

Can POWR handle the full member sign-up process?

Yes and no. POWR Forms is excellent for the front-end sign-up experience, collecting member information, capturing payments, and passing that data to you or your systems. However, POWR does not provide a member area back-end, meaning we don't host the protected content, manage member logins, or automatically grant/revoke access.

Think of POWR Forms as the "front door" of your membership setup, we collect what you need to enroll a member, and then you (or your member management system) handle what happens after.

What POWR Forms can do for memberships

  • Collect sign-up information: name, email, phone, address, custom fields specific to your membership tiers

  • Accept payments: including one-time payments and recurring subscriptions (via PayPal, Stripe, and other integrated payment processors)

  • Send automated confirmations: trigger email confirmations to the member as soon as they sign up

  • Notify you as admin: get email notifications for every new member sign-up so you know when to grant access

  • Store submissions: all sign-up data is stored in your POWR dashboard for reference and export

  • Integrate with third-party tools: push new sign-ups to Google Sheets, Mailchimp, Zapier, and other services

What POWR Forms cannot do for memberships

  • Host a members-only area: POWR doesn't provide password-protected content pages on your site

  • Automatically grant or revoke access: access to your protected content still needs to be managed manually or via your website builder's member system

  • Integrate directly with Wix, Weebly, Squarespace, or Shopify member systems: unfortunately, POWR doesn't have a native integration with these platforms' built-in member management tools. You'll need to manually approve and add each new member into your platform's member system after receiving their sign-up

Handling recurring subscription cancellations

If you're taking subscription payments from your members through a POWR form (via PayPal):

  • PayPal will notify you by email as soon as a subscriber cancels their recurring payment

  • You'll need to manually revoke access in your existing member management console once you receive that notification

  • POWR does not automatically remove or disable a member's access when their subscription lapses, that step is on you or your platform

My website builder doesn't have a built-in member area, what do you recommend?

If you're on a platform without a native member system, here are options worth exploring:

  1. Third-party membership services: tools like SentryLogin, MemberSpace, MemberPress (WordPress), or similar can add password protection and member management to almost any site

  2. Your site builder's app market: check the app market of your platform (Wix, Shopify, BigCommerce, Squarespace, etc.). Many offer member/membership apps that may already include form and payment features. In some cases you may not even need POWR Forms alongside them

  3. Combined setup: for some platforms, using a member login tool alongside POWR Form Builder is the ideal combination, POWR handles the polished sign-up form and payments, while the member tool handles access control.
