How to uninstall POWR from Shopify

If you no longer need a POWR app on your Shopify store, uninstalling is straightforward. Here's how to do it properly, plus what to expect afterwards.

Before you uninstall

A quick heads-up: uninstalling a POWR app from Shopify will:

  • Stop billing for that specific app subscription

  • Remove the Shopify App Store connection between your store and the app

  • Preserve your app's data on POWR's side, so if you reinstall later, your settings and content can be restored

Your form submissions, popup opt-ins, or other collected data remain accessible from your POWR account at powr.io even after uninstalling. If you want to export this data before uninstalling, log in to your POWR dashboard and download it from the app's Responses tab.

How to uninstall

  1. Log in to your Shopify Admin

  2. Go to Apps in the left sidebar

  3. Find the POWR app you want to uninstall in your list of installed apps

  4. Click the three dots (⋯) or the Delete button next to the app

  5. Confirm the uninstallation when prompted

That's it. Shopify will remove the app from your installed apps list and stop any further charges for that specific POWR subscription.

What happens after uninstalling

Billing stops immediately. Shopify will cancel the recurring charge for that app. You won't be billed again for that subscription.

Your app may still appear on your site. This is a common follow-up question. When you uninstall a POWR app from Shopify, our script only gets removed if it was the only POWR app on your store. If you still have other POWR apps installed, our script and the app's HTML div may remain in your theme code, causing the uninstalled app to still appear on your site visually.

If you want to fully remove the app from your site

To completely remove the uninstalled app's visible presence from your site:

  1. In your Shopify Admin, go to Online Store > Themes

  2. Click Actions > Edit code on your active theme

  3. Open the template or section where the POWR app was embedded

  4. Find the POWR HTML div, which looks like:

   <div class="powr-[app-name]" id="[unique-id]"></div>

  1. Delete that line and click Save

Once removed, the app will no longer appear anywhere on your site.

Reinstalling later

Changed your mind? You can reinstall any POWR app at any time:

  1. Go to the Shopify App Store and search for the POWR app you want

  2. Click Add app and reinstall

  3. Your previous content, settings, and data will be restored to your account

Since we retain your app's data, you won't need to rebuild your form, popup, or other app from scratch.
