POWR App Users
POWR acts as a Data Controller in its direct relationship with you as a customer when it comes to the information you give us directly (such as your sign up information, billing information etc.). If you are collecting information from your own customers (e.g. through a contact form, order form, etc.) you are acting as a Data Controller also. In this respect POWR and you, the app creator, are considered as separate and independent Data Controllers under EU law. You are therefore responsible for the personal information you process while using POWR’s services.
The service POWR provides to you is as a Data Processor. We process and store information on your behalf. It is your responsibility to ensure that the ways in which you use and protect the data collected from internet users in the EU are compliant with GDPR, including getting explicit consent from users. For the full regulation text, read more here.
To facilitate GDPR compliance for users collecting information through POWR Form Builder, the new GDPR Compliance form element will allow you to handle email opt-ins in a GDPR-compliant way by providing:
- An opt-in timestamp
- The users’ locale
- The user’s selected permissions
- Automatic exclusion of users who haven’t opted in to emails from receiving automated Customer Confirmation Emails.
- A quick and easy way of handling data deletion requests at the click of a button in your Responses Dashboard within your personal POWR Account.
Here is an example of what your GDPR-compliant form could look like:
Here's how to add the GDPR element to your POWR form:
To find out more about the POWR Form Builder GDPR Compliance element, please read our blog post.
Important to know!!
When you are adding the corresponding GDPR element to your POWR form and customize the autoresponder email, please take note that those form respondents who check the GDPR box will not receive the autoresponder email because they haven’t opted in to emails from receiving automated Customer Confirmation Emails.
The GDPR checkbox labels are no longer aligned to the checkboxes in my POWR form. The labels are now pushed to a new line instead. How can I make the labels and the checkboxes appear in one line again?
Please apply the following bit of CSS code in your App Settings > Design > Advanced:
.radio, .checkbox { display: inline;
}
Once this is done, the labels will be aligned to the checkboxes in your form.

Hello POWR-Team,
I have a question regarding your Form Builder: When a user fills out a contact form, is personal data stored on servers outside the EU?
I am looking forward to your answer!
Best regards,
Lars
