Wix: App Market, accounts, and upgrades
App Market Upgrades
We offer Free, Starter, Pro, and Business through the Wix App Market for some of our Appss.
We offer free and premium features for all of our Apps.
Starter:
- Unlocks Starter features
- Applies to all instances of that app. Past, present, and future versions of the same app type are upgraded. For example, when purchasing a Starter upgrade for Form Builder Plus+, all forms on the user's site will be upgraded.
Pro:
- Unlocks Pro level features.
- Does not apply to multiple app types. Only upgrades apps of the same type.
Business:
- Unlocks Business level features.
- Does not apply to multiple app types. Only upgrades apps of the same type.
In Wix, all app upgrades are site-specific. That means, if a user as multiple sites within the same account, the user can not use the same app upgrade on different websites. Similarly, an app upgrade cannot be transferred between sites. When moving the site, changing the template, or creating a new site, the user needs to re-upgrade from within that other site.
App Market payments and refunds
All payments are handled by Wix. Cancellations must be made through the Wix Editor (This article walks the user through the process). Refunds will be handled by Wix. We need to approve the refund first, which we only do if a user has duplicate upgrades (for two Wix sites, via POWr and via Wix, or for two separate app types). If you approve a refund for a user, cc iliab@wix.com to the email response and ask that the Wix Support Team refund the user.
Free Trials
We can give users free trials via TSH. Starter, Pro, and Business trials can be applied for a specific duration. Please note: the user must create apps on POWr in order for the upgrade to apply. If they add the app through the Wix App Market, they will not see Premium features.
If a user has an upgrade purchased via Wix, we can't use the bump feature. The upgrade must have been purchased on POWr in order to bump up.
Site transfers and copy/paste
POWr Apps created in Wix lose their settings when:
- A user transfers a site from one account to another one
- A user updates their template (which, in Wix, creates a new site)
- A user tries to copy/paste an App from one page to another one
If a user is about to do any of this and contacts you beforehand, ask them to create an account at powr.io and send us a link to one of their Apps. We can then assign the Apps to a POWr account and help them re-install the App on their new site or page.
User accounts
In October 2016, we started creating accounts for Wix users. Before that, we had a user token associated with a Wix website, but we did not have actual accounts for the user in TSH.
Wix doesn't give us access to the user's email address, so for most Wix users you will see a user ID in TSH that looks something like this: wix_123456
For anyone using an App, in which we collect the user email (Form Builder, Payment Button, etc.), we use that email address to assign it to the user account.
People using the digital download feature in eCommerce know that they are creating an account with POWr because we prompt them to sign in to an account to upload files.
