Weebly: App Center, accounts and upgrades

User Account

Weebly automatically creates a POWr account for a Weebly user when they add a POWr App to their site via the Weebly App Center. 

If the user already has a POWr account and its email matches their Weebly email, the user will automatically be logged into their POWr account through Weebly.

If the user does not yet have a POWr account, an account will automatically be created for them. Their new POWr account will use their Weebly email address, and a Welcome email will be sent to them with their randomly generated POWr account password.

This can be troublesome if they change their Weebly account email address!  Because their POWr account is already tied to a Weebly email address, it creates a token so that every time they access POWr from Weebly, they will be logged into the originally created account. If a user wants to use a new email address/account, you will need to merge the new account into the original account and change the email address on the original account to whatever they want to use. 

Upgrades

Weebly upgrades work exactly the same as POWr Upgrades. Users can upgrade in the POWr Editor or via powr.io.

POWr eCommerce & Payment Button

POWr eCommerce can only be used if a Weebly user has an already upgraded Weebly Business account. To install Payment Button, the user requires a Weebly Starter upgrade.

Access to Weebly App Center

Weebly partners with a bunch of domain hosts, such as Fat Cow. Those services give their users access to the Weebly Editor to build their websites. Because those users are not primarily Weebly customers, they do not have access to the Weebly App Center.

Similarly, users with a Weebly Designer account do not have access to the apps in the Weebly App Center. The workaround for those users is to use Weebly's embed code element and install using an HTML code.
