Joomla: Uninstall issues

Currently, there is an issue with uninstalling POWr Apps from the Joomla Extension Manager. We are not sure yet what exactly is causing the problem. But for now, if a user writes in about this, please have them do the following:

  1. Inside the Joomla installation files on the user's computer (folder name should be /administrator/manifests/packages), there should be a file named something like pkg_powrtwitterfeed.xml
  2. If the file name is all lower case, change the name to pkg_POWrTwitterFeed.xml (with those capitals).
  3. If instead is it capitalized, make it all lowercase.
  4. Try uninstalling again and it should work.

This almost always solves the issue.

Another possibility is that the file has already been deleted from the/administrator/manifests/packages folder manually. If that's the case, the user needs to re-add the file (which you can grab from the first step in the Joomla tutorials) to the directory and then try uninstalling the extension again.

Please ask them to try the first method (renaming the file) first, before you send them the instructions for re-adding and uninstalling the extension.
